Celebrations

Doniphan Doozies are positive slips that are handed out by all staff here at AD. Students get these when they go above in beyond. This may be setting a good example for others in the classroom, helping a friend at lunch without being asked or going out of their way to show kindness to an adult in the hallway. 

Students will write their names on these slips and stick them in a raffle jar in their classrooms. Each month, classroom teachers will pull 2-3 students our of the raffle jar and they will earn and extra recess at the end of the day!

Golden ticket winners are selected individually by school staff members for going above in beyond in the areas of empathy, openness, and patience! These golden ticket winners will get recognized on our morning announcements and will get a positive call home from school admin! Each quarter, golden ticket winners will get to enjoy a donut for their special accomplishment!

Coming to school is vital to student success! We have a building attendance goal that 90% of our students coming to school 90% of the time! Each semester that we meet this goal, we will have a building celebration! Please look in advance at our district calendar when planning trips and appointments. We want your student here as much as possible!

There are so many exciting things at Alexander Doniphan and one that we absolutely love is seeing and celebrating growth. The iReady Diagnostic is an assessment that students take three times throught the year, (Fall, Winter and Spring). This is an adaptive assessment in which questions are adjusted based on student skills. This allows all students to see their progress over time. Each student is given a typical growth goal and a stretch growth goal. We work all year towards meeting this growth and student get to celebrate their growth with their classmates!
